RUGARAMA is a non-for-profit mission hospital established in 1983, serving a population of about 500,000 people in the districts of districts of Kaba le, Rukiga, and Rubanda. The hospital has an active license by the Uganda Medical and Dental Practitioners Council with license No. 20218 and liaises with the District Health Officer of Kabale. RUGARAMA seeks to provide affordable health care to the populations and hosts a community health scheme where communities can make upfront payments to receive healthcare from the hospital.
