Kasese Community Health and Education Foundation (KCHEF) is a non-for-profit foundation that that supports Kasese Medical Centre, founded in 2002 serving a population of about 702,000 people in the district of Kasese. The Medical Centre has a valid license by the Uganda Medical and Dental Practitioners Council with license No. 30210 and liaises with the District Health Officer of Kasese District. KCMC seeks to provide affordable health care to the populations and hosts a community health scheme where communities can make upfront payments to receive healthcare from the Medical Centre

With premiums of only Ugx 2000 (USD 0.5) monthly, rural communities can now access health care from hospitals in their communities. The insured are healthier, their finances too.
