VILLA MARIA is a non-for-profit hospital established in 1902 serving a population of about 210,000 people in the districts of Kalungu, Bukomansimbi, Ssembabule, Gomba and pat of Masaka City. The hospital has a valid license by the Uganda Medical and Dental Practitioners Council with license No. 14374 and liaises with the District Health Officer of Kalungu District.
VILLA MARIA seeks to provide affordable health care to the populations and hosts a community health scheme where communities can make upfront payments to receive healthcare from the hospital.
VILLA MARIA hosts a community health scheme that serve groups in the region of Central Uganda.
With premiums of only Ugx 2000 (USD 0.5) monthly, rural communities can now access health care from hospitals in their communities. The insured are healthier, their finances too.
