RUHARO Mission Hospital is a non-for-profit mission hospital established in 1948 serving a population of about 1,000,000 people in the districts of Mbarara, Isingiro and others. The hospital has an active license by the Uganda Medical and Dental Practitioners Council with license No. UMDPC 18973 and liaises with the District Health Officer of Mbarara. RUHARO seeks to provide affordable health care to the populations and hosts a community health scheme where communities can make upfront payments to receive healthcare from the hospital
RUHARO hosts a community health scheme that serve groups in the region of Ankole.
With premiums of only Ugx 2000 (USD 0.5) monthly, rural communities can now access health care from hospitals in their communities. The insured are healthier, their finances too.
